2002 BAJA 340 ISLANDER CENTER CONSOLE Powered by Twin Mercury 250 HP EFI Outboard Motors FORWARD CUDDY CABIN! ONLY 292 HOURS!
THIS BAJA 340 CENTER CONSOLE IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. FACTORY T-TOP LOOKS GREAT AND GELCOAT SHINES GREAT. BAJA QUALITY IS UNBELIEVABLE. ALL THE FISHBOXES, AND STORAGE COMPARTMENTS ARE CLEAN. BOAT ALSO HAS A CUDDY CABIN AND AN ENCLOSED HEAD AT THE BOW . BOAT HAS A FULL ARRAY OF ELECTRONICS THAT ARE BRAND NEW.
The console, electronics and the overall upholstery are in very good shape. Gelcoat shines like new from top to bottom. The rigging quality on this boat is extremely good and the hull is solid. Baja 340 Islander has a great deck layout with a forward cuddy cabin and an enclosed head. This boat is one of the best center console that money can buy. 500 HP motors push the boat to 65-70 MPH.
This is a center console on steroids. With a length of just more than 34 feet and a still-trailerable beam of 8 feet 6 inches, this is a long, lean stiletto that slides across the water with ease. This boat has a pair of 250-hp Mercury EFI outboards, and with two people aboard it blows along with the speedometer dancing between 65 and 70 mph. What is far more interesting about the 340 Islander is the immense enclosed head compartment built into the forward side of the console. The entire forward part of the console, including the front seating, hinges up easily on gas lifts, revealing the usual portable head two steps down in an area big enough to stand up and change clothes. With a 24-degree transom deadrise, this is a true deep-V hull just like offshore racers, and you can fine-tune the trim with the tabs, which have racing-style indicators. But even without tabs, this is obviously a well-designed hull, and the tabs are really only needed for trimming out the effects of weight or wind.
The aft cockpit runs nearly full beam and is protected on all three sides by deeply padded coaming cushions. The transom door makes it easy to get out to the small swim platform or standard outboard engine bracket, and it's raised so the boat won't ship water when backing down on a fish. An insole hatch here provides some storage and direct access to such items as the engine-oil reservoirs, but this is for sight-checking the levels only as you'll use the remote fill pipes located in the gunwales when its time to add two-stroke oil.
You won't be fishing the boat 100% of the time, and when you're idling down the channel or cruising an aft benchseat for 2 flips down easily with one hand for extra seating, and it flips up and away just as quickly.
If you have the speed gene and a big urge to fish, there's no better way to go than in the Baja 340 Islander Outboard. Boat has a huge cockpit that holds up to 10 people and all their gear. You get 360 degrees of fish-fighting room, and there's still space for a forward V-berth and enclosed head. The optional Sport Fish package equips you for some serious fishing. This configuration features a bolstered leaning post, 30-gallon recirculating livewell, storage for 10 rods, dual in-floor fish boxes, a built-in tackle box and a textured inner liner. A watertight stereo system helps the fun go all day and into the night. Twin 250 EFI Mercury outboards and the unique Baja True V Hull provide unmatched speed and control. For big fishing adventure,no boat matches the 340 Islander Outboard.
Overall, this is a great fishing and cruising boat. Gelcoat shines great from top to bottom and graphics look beautifuL. Bottom shines great. Boat also has a nice Stereo System with a Weather proof cover . Runs like a clock. Top speed is around 65 Mph and it handles great. She jumpes on plane in just 4.9 seconds. Best cruise is 27.3 mph at 3000 rpm, but you'll more likely run the boat at 3500 rpm doing nearly 40 mph. With her oversized 272-gallon fuel tank, the 340 can cover more than 300 miles between stops at the fuel dock.
Lower Unit and propellers are in very good shape. Baja has a great ride even in choppy waters. The lower units have low water pickups so that you can ho airborne without any worries. This is a great offshore hull with a Deep Vee. Center Console compartment is very clean. Forward fishboxes and the insulated cooler looks good. Boat has a great quality factory installed T- Top and its very sturdy. All electronics are brand new they look great. Livorsi Steering Wheel looks great (some peel on it).
