Chow Chow - Medium - Young - Female - Dog - GYPSY
Description
***PRIVATE LISTING*** PLEASE READ HAERT BREAKING EMAIL BELOW , CONTACT INFO IS BELOW (BROWN DOG ONLY THAT NEEDS A HOME) Hi Robbie, My Name is Lisa. We spoke a week ago in regards to a dog I adopted from the Broward Humane Society. She is a 2yr old spayed female. A rusty colored Sheppard/Chow mix, named Gypsy. She weighs 43lbs and her shots will be current as of this Thursday. I believe she lived on the streets, her profile indicated that her previous owners found her and had her for 2yrs.Their story was that they did not have a home to keep her. Thats all the info I was given. When I picked her up she was under weight and infested with ticks & fleas, normally she would have a fluffier coat but I had to shave her down. She has been given frontline which has corrected the parasite problem. She is very good about being housebroken as long as she is on a schedule for feeding times and going out for walks. Gypsy was never trained before and has some behavioral issues. She is very sweet and loving most all the time. Its only when she plays and gets really wound up we have a difficult problem getting her to settle down. Her play can be gentle but also extremely rough. She will bite at pants, legs, arms and hands, any part of the body she can lunge at. She will run up behind and attack as well. When she does this its only to play, she is not scared or being malicious, but her bites are hard. Gypsy does not like being reprimanded and the intention to do so only encourages this negative behavior. I think whoever had Gypsy before may have been training her to fight? Although she is very good with my other dog who is a 7th mth old retriever pup, Gypsy should be the sole dog in a household until her behavior can be corrected. I have been working with her on behavior modification techniques and consulted some trainers. Gypsy is also enrolled in obedience classes beginning in May which has been paid for in advance. I am becoming overwhelmed with this situation and dont feel like I have the patience to continue. My agreement with Broward Humane Society states, I would return the dog to them if I dont want her but I feel by being honest about her behavior issues they would determine her unadoptable. If I dont tell them and return her she will end up with the wrong person again and could possibly be abused. Gypsy is a great dog! I know she only wants love and to be cared for. She is loving companion who naps throughout the day and is very cuddly. She loves to be petted and have her belly rubbed. Every night she sleeps at my side underneath the bed. I hope you can help me find a home for her? I have attached pictures. Please feel free to contact me via email or my home phone 954-923-5962. Sincerely, Lisa
